Raya Ali is a legal counsel of the Maldives International Arbitration Centre (MIAC). At this role she has acted as Case Manager and Tribunal Secretary for domestic and international arbitrations. 

Prior to joining MIAC, Raya primarily practiced civil litigation S&A Lawyers LLP. Her work in litigation included representing state owned enterprises and licensed commercial banks.  Raya has also worked on enforcement matters relating to foreign arbitral awards. 

Raya has completed several internationally recognized training programs related to alternative dispute resolution as well.  She also served on the first elected Executive Committee of the Maldives Bar Association and was the Secretary General of the Maldives Law Institute. 

Raya holds a LL.M in Commercial Law and is licensed to appear before all courts in the Republic of Maldives.
