The Maldives International Arbitration Centre ("MIAC") is pleased to partner with the M.K. Nambyar Memorial 7th NUALS International Maritime Law Arbitration Competition ("NIMLAC 2026"), organised by the NUALS Moot Court Society.
NIMLAC 2026 presents participants with a complex maritime arbitration problem involving deviation at sea, dangerous cargo classification, emergency arbitration orders, and the interaction between the SIAC Rules 2025 and Hague-Visby obligations. The competition is designed to test advocacy, analytical rigour, and practical application of international maritime and arbitration law principles.
Through this partnership, MIAC reaffirms its commitment to developing the next generation of arbitration practitioners and strengthening expertise in maritime law and international dispute resolution.
Preliminary Rounds (Online): 28th – 29th March 2026
Grand Finals: 18th April 2026
Prize Pool: ₹1,00,000 (Winners), ₹75,000 (Runners-up), with awards for Best Memorial and Best Speaker.
