Mediation Law Consultations

The Maldives International Arbitration Centre was pleased to host the Mediation Law Consultations held on 8 - 9 April 2026 in Malé.

Organised in collaboration with the Commercial Law Development Program, the sessions brought together key stakeholders to explore the role of mediation within a modern dispute resolution framework in the Maldives. Discussions focused on international best practices, practical considerations for implementation, and the development of a robust and effective mediation ecosystem.

MIAC extends its sincere appreciation to CLDP for their continued support and partnership, and to all participants for their valuable contributions and engagement throughout the programme. A special note of thanks is extended to the two expert facilitators Tony Andriotis and Dr. Bajar Scharaw for their insightful guidance and for leading highly engaging discussions.

These consultations mark an important step in advancing mediation in the Maldives, as part of broader efforts to strengthen the country’s alternative dispute resolution landscape.
