Aminath Raya Ali

Raya Ali is the Registrar of the Maldives International Arbitration Centre (MIAC), where she leads the Secretariat in delivering Legal and Case Management services. With over 16 years of experience in the legal field, Raya has built a diverse and accomplished career.

Prior to joining MIAC, Raya practiced primarily in civil litigation at S&A Lawyers LLP, representing state-owned enterprises and licensed commercial banks. She also has experience handling enforcement matters related to foreign arbitral awards, enhancing her expertise in international dispute resolution.

Raya has completed several internationally recognized training programs in alternative dispute resolution (ADR), underscoring her commitment to advancing arbitration and mediation practices in the Maldives. She was also a member of the first elected Executive Committee of the Maldives Bar Association and served as Secretary General of the Maldives Law Institute, contributing to the development of the legal profession in the country.

She holds an LL.M in Commercial Law and is licensed to appear before all courts in the Republic of Maldives.
